Ricky Granite Does Not Know About My Planes

Ricky Granite said I do not belong in the squared place. He said it out loud! In front of everybody! Momma is going to hear about this and she is going to be -- well, she is going to say I told you so, which is NOT the point right now!!

I have been building 1:72 scale model aircraft since I was nine years old, Ricky. NINE. Do you know what kind of patience that requires? Do you know what kind of HANDS?! These are precision hands. Championship hands. The big-metal-one hands, if I am being honest, which I always am!!

You called me soft. You called me a little boy. I am not -- I am -- okay I did cry a little when the arena lights came on because they make my hair feel genuinely terrible and I had not eaten since the juice box I was promised at check-in and apparently that promise meant nothing to anyone here!!

But here is the thing about Ricky Granite, here is the real thing, the thing Momma would understand even if she pretends she would not -- I am going to walk into that squared place on Friday and I am going to do the ending part and it is going to be so good and clean and precise... and I am sorry I said that so loud...
