A man who books this territory without accounting for what each contest is worth to the house is not a matchmaker. He is a clerk guessing at figures he does not understand.
I have asked for nothing that was not earned. What I require is a booking that reflects the value I bring to this worksite, and a decision-maker willing to treat that value as a fact rather than a negotiation.
The audience paid. They are owed a return. So am I.
I have been very patient. Very. Momma always says patience is a virtue -- she cross-stitched it on a pillow -- and I have sat on that pillow metaphorically for weeks now, waiting for somebody at 80s Championship Wrestling to explain why certain decisions are being made the way they are being made.
The bookings. The matchups. The whole -- arrangement. I am not saying I deserve special treatment. I am saying I deserve correct treatment. Those are different things and someone in charge should know that by now.
I have mapped every corner of my backyard. I have identified forty-seven songbirds by their feet alone. I know how to read a situation -- and this situation says: somebody running this territory needs to look me in the eye and account for themselves, before I stop being polite about it... and I very much do not want to stop being polite about it.
What I will share is this: I refused, in writing, any language binding my services to a card where the principal match carries no consequence worth the travel. A handshake is a social custom. A contract clause is a fact.
What I will not share is the figure. The figure is between me and the house, and the house knows what it agreed to pay for. What the audience is owed to know is simpler: I did not come to 80s Championship Wrestling on speculation. I came on terms. Mine.
Buster Blankenship wishes to inform the public -- all of it -- that the squared place is not his only worksite. He has holdings. He has ventures.
The backyard cartography business is currently valued at... a lot. The model airplane assembly operation is entering its third fiscal quarter. Bird-foot identification consulting remains brisk, pending two outstanding invoices that certain parties know who they are.
80s Championship Wrestling is a priority. It is. Momma said diversify and Buster is diversifying and he is doing it entirely by himself and he is fine, he is completely fine, please do not call the house?
There are men who come to this work because they have nothing else. I am not one of those men.
The ring at 80s Championship Wrestling is a worksite, and I operate it the way I operate every other concern I hold: with discipline, with patience, and with a clear accounting of what goes in and what comes out. The audience here is owed the same return on their attention as any other party I do business with. No more, no less.
I do not perform. I produce.
Effective immediately, "Oily" Danny Plaintalk will not enter the worksite for any engagement that does not carry consequence commensurate with the effort required to prepare for it.
A man who labors without leverage is not a competitor. He is a service. I do not render services.
Those who govern this territory are advised to bring terms worth a man's consideration. The rest may occupy the card at their leisure.
